About Me:
Stephanie Hernández Román is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Social Welfare, with minors in Public Policy and Chicanx/Latinx Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. Stephanie was born and raised in the Bay Area by her Salvadoran parents and is fluent in Spanish.
During her time at Cal, Stephanie has covered a diverse array of topics, including American Foreign Policy, Introduction to Public Policy Analysis, and Wealth & Poverty. Her coursework is complemented by internships that have honed her skills and expertise. During her time as a Development intern at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) NorCal, Stephanie designed and distributed the Development team’s first newsletter, researched prospective donors, and coordinated logistical details for events. Before her role at ACLU NorCal, Stephanie served as an intern for the Northeast team at Energy Foundation, where she gained experience in event coordination, grantee communication, and wrote a grantee story about the Clean Air Council, a Northeast grantee.
She is excited to join the San Mateo SBDC and learn more about small businesses in the Bay Area.
