About Me:
Hayley Village immigrated from Birmingham, England, in 1985. She holds an AA in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s in Human Services and Counseling.
Hayley has over 40 years of experience working with children and families in both private and nonprofit sectors. Her diverse roles include nanny, teacher, childcare director, counselor, program manager, and site director, with a special focus on Child Protective Services (CPS) liaison work. She has supported some of the most vulnerable populations, including children born with prenatal drug exposure, teen girls in residential group homes, teen moms and their children in the foster care system, and homeless emancipated youth.
Hayley’s passion for empowering youth led her to develop an Independent Living Skills Program for ages 13-24, guiding them through the transition from residential care to community living after time in foster care. This program ensures access to essential resources such as education, housing, childcare, medical assistance, food, and wraparound services, fostering self-sufficiency.
In 2005, Hayley initiated a nanny share that evolved into a thriving family daycare catering to a wide range of ages. Her extensive background includes working in residential group homes, serving as a House Matron for a boarding school in the UK, and participating in summer camps in the UK and the USA.
Celebrating nearly two decades of service next year, Hayley operates a safe, loving, and nurturing Family Daycare Home for children aged 3 months to school-aged in San Mateo County. She actively contributes to the community by serving on advisory boards for Early Childhood Agencies, including Home Grown, Silicon Valley Community Foundation, and San Mateo Family Child Care Organization. Hayley is a staunch advocate for the best interests of children and families in her county.
In 2017, Hayley founded The Glenys Village Humanitarian and Scholarship Awards in memory of her late mother, funding scholarships for community members and students demonstrating exemplary deeds or overcoming significant challenges.
As a mother of three children aged 28, 24, and 20 and a 9-year-old fur baby, Hayley’s commitment extends beyond her professional endeavors. She endeavors to level the playing field for Family Daycares by exploring and connecting with resources to elevate and sustain Family Child Care programs.
